Bennett Lake sits in Deerfield Township, Livingston County, just south of Lobdell Lake. Its western half is a deep main basin, while the eastern side is shallower, with marsh and wetland edges.

There is no public launch on Bennett itself, but boats can reach it through the channel from Lobdell Lake, which has public access.
The channel to Lobdell Lake runs under Bennett Lake Road.
